Reviews
Staff are very friendly and it’s not overly crowded despite we came on the Christmas Day. Penguin hire is extra $150 which is a bit pricey. Only electronic payment is accepted (no cash).
Bad experience with the staff who didn’t give the right information from the beginning… disappointing experience (first time I have a bad experience in an ice skating place and I went to many in HK and around the world…)
Had my 1st time experience of ice gliding
Ice rig is well maintained
Often crowded and a longer queue
Best it to try 6.30 to 8.30pm slot during weekends and holidays
Other slots are full of people but lesser than Mega Box
Families searching for child-friendly things to do will find Glacier Ice Rink at Festival Walk in Kowloon Tong. This is a small leisure rink that can be a good way to spend time on hot and bad weather days during trips to Hong Kong.
Rink open hours are 10.30am to 9pm during the week and 1-10pm on weekends. Skating price is HK$60 per person during the week and HK$75-85 per person on weekends depending on session time. Locker storage is available (HK$7).
Note that skating sessions are very crowded on weekends and public holidays as many locals hit the ice at on those days. Ice resurfacing is scheduled for 12.30, 3 and 5.30pm on weekdays and 12.30, 3, 5.30 and 8pm. During off sessions you can catch youth ice-skating performances and weekend ice-hockey games. These can be fun to watch for a few minutes as well.
Nice skating rink! Many courses available for different age groups. Experienced teachers.
lots of seats around.
Very good ice skating rink, not too crowded, relatively smaller compared to Mega ice
As an ice skating rink, it looks great and it creates a vibe for people to visit the surrounding food and beverage outlets. As a parent taking two 11y/o girls for a skating session, it felt like there was no enthusiasm from the staff at any point. From the time we paid, through the session and returning the skates, the experience was flat.
I was told off for wearing hockey skates, after an hour of using them with the staff/coaches not caring at all, and then all of a sudden I'm forced to either not skate or rent figure skates. So I read the rules/policies/regulations at the rental kiosk (which is not at all posted on the website) and it says that hockey skates are only allowed for individuals over 30 and under 12 years of age, and only allowed during 10:30 am - 12:00 pm.
What kind of rink doesn't allow hockey skates? If anything, figure skates are even more dangerous because of the toe pick which could easily snag someone else if someone was to fall.
Disappointed. Would not recommend if you are a skater who likes hockey skates.
Disappointing experience from the staff and arrangements in this place. No photo and video taking allowed inside the rink, more than half of the rink is blocked off, entrance and exit blocked by non skaters, extremely rough ice surface....
